13 radiation treatments down - 17 more to go. I will officially be finished active treatment on May 5, which is four weeks today. Can't wait. Compared to chemotherapy, radiation is a breeze. However, the side effects are starting to build up, so I might have a different opinion next week when things really start to accelerate. So far, I have a nice pink glow on the entire left side of my chest, armpit, shoulder and neck. It is warm under and on top of the skin but not uncomfortably so. My shoulder is slightly stiff and sore, and my throat is scratchy (that might be from yelling at the dogs, though - hahaha). My tummy gets a little bit upset after treatments but it is manageable. The biggest challenge in terms of current side effects is the accumulating fatigue. I am basically a write-off the entire afternoon.
